It has never been harder to be a First Responder than it is today. Whether you are Police, Sheriff, Fire, EMT's, or paramedics, all "Badges" face significant challenges in the modern work environment. Even with the normal challenges faced on the street, First Responders are often asked to work overtime on very little rest, because our emergency services are understaffed and without many of the resources they need to be successful.

At the Veteran Wellness Center, we understand that this workload makes it extremely difficult to focus on health and wellness, and, similar to military servicemembers, often times contributes to the development of instances of Post-Traumatic Stress and Traumatic Brain Injury. For this reason, we exist to educate first responders about holistic and integrative therapies and modalities that can help them. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Art Therapy

  • Chiropractic Therapy

  • Acupuncture Therapy

  • Massage Therapy

  • Music Therapy

  • Floatation Therapy

  • Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

  • Infrared Sauna

  • Biofeedback Scanning

  • Electromagnetic Field Therapy

  • Meditation

  • Craniosacral Therapy

  • Stem Cell Therapy

  • Mental Health Counseling

  • Mental Reframing

We are proud to have developed relationships with wellness practitioners throughout the Hampton Roads region and around the country, which allows us to provide first responders with the best, cutting-edge information available regarding wellness therapies of interest to them. We also work with these practitioners to provide funding for first responders who are unable to bear the financial cost of these treatments. For more information on this, please see the Apply for Funding page.
